Job description:
Cast Aside Productions is a professional musical theater production company, looking for talented, fun and energetic people who are motivated and driven to sell program ads and negotiate season sponsorships. We are a fast-paced, rapid-growth start-up disrupting the Portland, ME scene. Success on our sales development team hinges on a propensity for action, productive collaboration with the Finance and Marketing teams, and a passionate interest in helping businesses and professionals support local art. It's a strong building block for a long-term career in Development and Sales.

Part-time, temp-to-hire position:
-Hours are self-assigned
-Compensation: commission (% to be negotiated upon hire)
-Base pay to be offered after initial probation period and review

Location:
This position is based in Portland, ME area.  Employee will work from their own home via their own phone/internet, and visit prospective clients as needed.

Responsibilities:
-High-volume prospecting into organizations via social networking, e-mail, cold calling, as well as utilizing Internet information sources to build and maintain a lead development pipeline.
-Penetrating accounts by profiling and scheduling well-qualified appointments for supervisor(s) with key decision makers in targeted companies.
-Qualifying inbound inquiries by educating and developing prospects, qualifying buying interest, and creating a sense of urgency - leading to appointment.
-Meeting weekly goals for calls and well-qualified meetings.
-Articulating and customizing Cast Aside's value proposition to decision-makers across multiple industries and functions to assess buying interest.
-Learning and demonstrating a fundamental understanding of Cast Aside's offerings to successfully manage and overcome prospect misperceptions or objections.
-Working closely with marketing team in the ongoing optimization of strategic sales approaches.
-Extensive use of tools to build and maintain accurate activity, contact, and account information of all customers and prospects.

-Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written, coupled with excellent listening skills and a positive and energetic phone presence.
-Ability to demonstrate an aptitude for cultural events, and economic challenges.
-Demonstrated success in prospecting into companies.
-Proven capabilities and skills in account development, opportunity qualification, pre-call planning, call structure/control, and time and territory management desired.
-Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast paced environment.
-1-2 years in outbound-focused sales or other customer-oriented background (support, customer service) preferred.
